Notes:
This is the very first Music Video I ever created.
I've worked with Adobe Premiere in the past before, using it to create
the footage for the AnimeDog interviews, so I had a basic understanding
of how to edit footage together.
My friend Mike Hayes had won a computer
from a Video Game Conference. A really impressive machine. He came to
me with the idea for this video. The two of us, and another friend of
ours, Al Boyce, all got involved.
Originally, I had no idea how this
video was ever going to work, but I didn't care, I just wanted to make
a music video. We used Dazzle which was capturing everything at 320X240,
which is why the video looks so lossy and pretty bad when you enlarge
it.
Anyways, it was a lot of fun making
this video, I loved the Gummi Bears theme song. The response to this
video was 'You're going to hell'. To which the three of us grinned from
ear to ear and just nodded our heads. A few of our friends were big
time Gundam fanatics, they off course just shook their heads.
At the premiere at the Rutgers University
anime club, I was nervous, first time a video I created would be shown
to a bunch of people. They all laughed and smiled, it was then I had
positive thoughts about it.
At Otakon 2002, Hayes, Al, and myself
were able to see the first viewing of the overflow. The crowd enjoyed
it, I feared the worst and there was an applause. I can see why we didn't
make the Otakon cut, there were other good videos out there, and the
quality was alot better than ours.
Friends of ours saw the second viewing
of the Overflow tape and they proceeded to say that it got a good ovation
too. I'm glad people enjoyed the video. Eventually I'll get back to
it, and make a cleaner, better version of it.
